Pilates conditions the mind and body, focusing on strengthening the core and restoring balance to the body, improving general fitness and wellbeing. Performed on a mat or on equipment, such as the reformer, pilates will strengthen, tone and lengthen muscles without adding bulk. Pilates can help to increase strength, improve flexibility and posture and reduce stress.

 
 

Mat work

At our studio here at Mello View we hold group classes on the mat. Classes will be for a maximum of eight students and will include the use of light weights, resistance bands and fitness circles to challenge you a little more. Following the basis of Joseph Pilates’ basic principles of Pilates, and centred around the STOTT Essential mat work repertoire, Vicky develops her classes with a dynamic approach, increasing repetitions and pushing muscles to fatigue. You will feel the difference in just a few classes!

£10 per class. One-to-one sessions are also available.

 

Reformer

Vicky offers private classes on the reformer. The reformer, originally designed by Joseph Pilates to help rehabilitate wounded soldiers in a First World War camp using bed springs, ropes and pulleys, is now used to help facilitate clients to perform the mat work exercises, or to increase the challenge! Often likened to an instrument of torture, the reformer is a wonderful addition to any workout! Vicky will work with you to get exactly what you want and need from your sessions.

Hire

Housing a studio was an important part of the plan for Mello View from the off. Its outlook across the valley adds to the peace and tranquility of the space in all seasons. The Studio is available to hire for retreats, classes, one-to-one therapy sessions or whatever else you may need it for.
